Vestibular and Dizziness Physiotherapy in Etobicoke

Dizziness and vertigo can make everyday movement feel unsafe. Vestibular physiotherapy assesses the balance and eye movement systems and uses targeted exercises to help you cope.

What is vestibular physiotherapy?

our vestibular system, in the inner ear and brain, helps you sense motion and keep your balance. When it is affected, you may feel dizzy, off balance or as if the room is spinning. Vestibular physiotherapy looks at how your eyes, inner ear and body work together, then uses exercises and movement advice to help you manage symptoms and stay active.

What your first visit includes

  1. A conversation about your symptoms, when they happen and what triggers them.

  2. A check of eye movements, balance, walking and neck movement.

  3. A plain explanation of what we found.

  4. A starting exercise plan, with advice on how to stay safe at home.

How exercises are used

Vestibular exercises often involve moving your head and eyes in set ways, practising balance, and gradually returning to activities that bother you. They are adjusted to your tolerance. Some people feel more dizzy at first during exercises. Your physiotherapist guides the pace. and will explain the risks and benefits to the treatment.
